JAMMU, July 1: The Mathematics book ‘Gateway to Complex Analysis’ written by the author Dr Raj Shree Dhar, Nodal Officer, J and K Institute of Mathematical Analysis, Sub-office Jammu was released by Minister for Higher Education, Mohd Akbar Lone in presence of Prof S D Sharma, Head, Department of Mathematics, Central University, Jammu, Nodal Principal, Prof Nutan Rasotra, Principals and staff members from the Colleges in an impressive and well attended function organized at GGM Science College, here today.
In his address, Mohd Akbar Lone said that total evolution of life is based on Mathematics and from times immemorial it has been used in all the aspects.
He stressed upon all the students and the teachers to learn latest trends in Mathematics and apply them accordingly and also brought forward the idea of establishing an independent institution of Mathematics JKIMS.
The Minister also congratulated Dr Dhar for contributing towards the society by writing books on Mathematics.
In author’s speech, Dr Dhar said that the present book introduces the knowledge of complex analysis, which is a powerful tool and beautiful part of Mathematics and forms the basis of many techniques employed in many branches of Mathematics and Physics.
He said the interesting part of the book is that it gradually develops the subject with historical background and the applications of well-known results.
Prof SD Sharma as Subject expert in his speech elaborated on the importance of Study of Mathematics.
Nodal Principal Prof Nutan Rasotra presented welcome address while Dr Shelly Gupta conducted the proceedings of the programme.
It is pertinent to mention here that the publications of Dr Dhar include a book An Inquiry Into Evolution of Mathematics.
The books are being distributed through the web portal of the publisher of Kolkata (www.power-publishers.com and www.purshottampublishers.com), as well as online flipcart.com and e-bay.in besides available at local book sellers.
