ICC drubs FCC; enters QFs

JAMMU, July 3: Outplaying Friends Cricket Club (FCC) by a big margin of 83 runs, International Cricket Club (ICC) sealed berth in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2014 tournament sponsored by KC Motors Jammu and being played at KC Public School ground adjacent to KC Sports Club.
Now, ICC will take on Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar in the quarterfinals on July 6, 2014 at the same venue.
Earlier, batting first, ICC scored a decent total of 160 runs in 19.4 by losing all 10 wickets. Sahil Singh Jamwal played a brilliant innings of 58 runs off 36 balls, studded with 6 boundaries 2 massive sixes, while Atul and Rakesh contributed 19 and 16 runs to the total respectively. Manik Buthoo was the pick of the bowlers for FCC, who bagged 4 important wickets by conceding 29 runs in his 4 overs, while Rishu took 2 wickets. Abhi, Raju and Salesh claimed one wicket each.
In reply, FCC bundled out for a paltry total of 77 runs in 19.5 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 83 runs. Naveen top scored with 25 runs, while Nitin and Manik Buthoo chipped in with 12 and 10 runs respectively. For ICC, Rajeev, Sanjay, Arjun and Bodh Raj took 2 wickets each, while Ankush claimed one wicket. Sahil Singh Jamwal was adjudged man of the match for his magnificent batting display.
Sadiq Hussain Malik, Rajinder Singh and Sohail Yusuf were the officials of the match.
