JAMMU, July 12: The Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, Ashok Kumar called a meeting of the District Youth Services and Sports Officers of the Jammu division to take stock of the plan, non-plan activities and Centrally Sponsored Schemes, here today.
During the meeting the Deputy Director informed that the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) would establish coaching centres in each zone of Jammu division by engaging trained and experienced staff to achieve desirable results.
The meeting said that 32605 players have been covered in the disciplines of wrestling, kabaddi, kho-kho, table tennis and basketball during the first quarter of the calendar year.
“96 playfields have been proposed to be developed during the calendar year”, the Deputy Director informed.
The Deputy Director stressed upon the Districts Officers to make proper use of the manpower and the available infrastructure to yield better results. He also asked them to visit their subordinate offices and institutions for achieving physical and financial targets.
Meanwhile, the meeting also reviewed the arrangements for the forthcoming events in various sports disciplines to be hosted by the Jammu division at various district Head Quarters.
