USTA deputation calls on Div Com, highlights demands

JAMMU, July 9: A deputation of J&K United School Teacher Association (USTA), led by its president  Hari Singh, called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu today and highlighted  some demands for consideration of the same.
The demands included immediate release of salaries of school teachers working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA),  removal of  pay anomalies in pay scale of under graduate teacher & masters,  transparent transfer policy, transfer of those masters, lecturers and  Principals who have completed their tenure in far off places including Ladakh, regularization of lecturers, Headmasters and  Principals on bi-annual basis, holding of DPC of all cadres in Education Department on bi-annual basis, immediate filling up of all vacant posts of teachers in schools, leave encashment benefit at retirement in favour of school teachers, enhancement of  salaries of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers from Rs 3000 to Rs 10,000 per month, muffasil allowance to teachers, provision of infrastructure in newly opened primary schools and enactment of  Right to Education Bill in J&K.
The deputation also projected demands for release of 10 percent DA, enhancement in Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, spending of 6 percent of GDP in education sector and adopting common school system.
Giving patient hearing to the deputation, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu assured to concede the demands.
Those who comprised the deputation included Rajiv Kumar, Chemail Singh, Dr Shashi Pal Singh, Darshan Lal, Julfkar Ali Malik, Pardeep Singh, Raj Kumar, Kishori Lal, Sukhdev Singh, Ganesh Dutt, Roop Lal, Thoru Ram, Rattan Singh, Madan Singh and Surinder Singh.
