JAMMU, July 13: J&K People’s Democratic Party today held a strong protest demonstration in front of Government Medical College, here, against Medical Education Minister and GMC Superintendent for not providing the basic facilities to the patients and their caretakers into the hospital.
PDP activists assembled in front of GMC, Hospital and raised slogans against Department for keeping an indifferent attitude towards common man. They demanded Minister to provide neat and clean atmosphere and free medicines to the patients in emergency cases and also the poor patients.
Condemning the negligent attitude of the GMC authorities, district vice-president of PDP, Jammu urban, Vikram Singh Bhadwal, said, “There are no proper toilets for the patients as well as their caretakers. Heaps of garbage can be seen in the corners releasing foul smell”.
Expressing concern over lack of medical staff as well as medicines in GMC hospital, Chaman Angral alleged that the authorities were not heeding to the several appeals made to solve the problems, which have hit hard the patients and their families.
