SOPORE, July 13: Wonder Boys Cricket Club Kralteng and Riders Cricket Club Chankhan registered convincing victories over their rivals to advance in the ongoing 1st Sopore T20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by District Police Baramulla, under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Khushal Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first match, Wonder Boys trounced Saleem Sports Wagub by 4 wickets in an easy contest.
Batting first, Saleem Sports scored 128 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Wonder Boys Club scored the required runs in 17 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Mansoor Ahmad top scored with 34 runs which fetched him man of the match award.
Meanwhile, in another match played today, Riders Cricket Club Chankhan registered a narrow win over GB Riders Naseembagh by one wicket. Batting first GB Riders scored 136 runs, while in reply, Riders Club chased the target in the last over by losing 9 wickets, thus won the match by 1 wicket. Tariq Ahmed was adjudged man of the match for his valuable unbeaten 20 runs.
The tournament, in which 56 teams are taking part is being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.
