MENDHAR, July 17: Two villages of tehsil Mendhar in district Poonch are without electricity supply for the last nearly one month.
Reports said villagers from Kasyot in Gursai area are suffering for the last one month as the electric transformer which got damaged could not be replaced or repaired so far. The villagers alleged that this damaged transformer is still lying in the house of lineman Shabir Hussain Shah at the village. They warned to start agitation if power is not restored.
Another village, Morha in Kalaban area is without power for the last nearly one month. The electric transformer went out of order and was removed from there but no other transformer has been restored to the villagers. There is strong resentment among the villagers against PDD. They alleged that power remains suspended for weeks together but PDD is charging flat rates from them every month which is great injustice with the public. The Government is charging for the service which it is not providing to the public. The innocent public is being duped. They also warned to storm PDD office at Mendhar.
