JAMMU, July 13: Under the supervision of Dr DK Arora, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu, the SKUAST-J organised Interaction-Cum-Training Programme for farmers at Kathar in Dansal, near here.
Earlier, Dr PS Slathia, Programme Coordinator while welcoming the participants highlighted the importance of such training programmes, while Dr Vivek Arya, Soil Scientist, while advocating the importance of soil testing highlighted the importance of integrated nutrient management in ‘Kandi’ area and stressed upon the farming community to use chemical fertilizers rationally and judiciously.
Dr Rajeev Bharat, Crop Scientist, emphasized on using farming system module for the better utilization of the available resources.
Pathologist Dr VB Singh addressed the disease related problem and advocated for the use of seed treatment.
Dr Deep Ji Bhat, Dr Reena, Dr Ankur Rastogi, Dr Nirmal Sharma, Dr Ankur Sharma and PK Nagar also delivered lectures on the occasion.
Later-on, Sarpanchs Baldev Singh and Parkash Singh presented vote of thanks.
