SRINAGAR, July 14: 26-days Mountaineering Course commenced at Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS), here today.
49 students drawn from various states of the country are participating in the course in which the participants will be exposed to different type of techniques like introduction to mountaineering equipment, rock craft, ice craft, river crossing, avalanche rescue, hazards, first aid, high altitude sickness and mountain terminology.
Col Virinder Singh, Principal JIM&WS apprised that such courses will help the youth in generating self-employment and building strong bonds.
