Discriminatory Postal Insurance

Sir,
This has reference to the editorial ‘Discriminatory Postal Insurance’ DE July 16.
Kudos to Daily Excelsior for highlighting and putting the issue of Postal Insurance in proper perspective.
It is quite heartburning that the Postal Department has adopted discriminatory attitude on levying service tax from its subscribers. It is 10.5 percent for people of Jammu region and nothing from Kashmir division.
Postal Life Insurance was introduced with the aim of benefitting employees. Instead of benefitting, if it harms it should be scrapped at once.
The Post Master General J&K Circle is requested to find a solution to this issue at the earliest, so that people could continue contributing towards their policies. Otherwise, they have been left with no option but to stop subscribing to it. People are watching closely the action, the postal Department would take in this matter.
Hope, the issue is resolved at the earliest to the satisfaction of people being discriminated right now.
Yours etc…
