Srinagar-PoK suspended due to Eid

SRINAGAR :  The Karvan-e-Aman bus service, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) was suspended today, in view of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Official sources said that in view of the Eid festival it was agreed by both sides to suspend the bus service for a day. However, those who were scheduled to travel in the bus today will be accommodated next week, they said.    This is the third time the bus service between Srinagar and POK has been suspended.
On January 20 and January 27, the bus service was suspended after a POK driver was arrested following recovery of drugs from his truck at Salamabad trade centre.    The bus service, started on April 7,2005, has helped thousands of families to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition.
However, only divided families could take benefit of the service as no other person is allowed to travel in the bus. (AGENCIES)
