SOPORE, July 15: Sopore Sports Club (SSC) and Ashraf Cricket Club (ACC) registered convincing wins over their rivals to advance in the ongoing 1st Sopore T20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by J&K Police Department, under Civic Action Programme at Khushal Stadium, here.
In the first match, Sopore Sports Club defeated Naharpora Cricket Club by 29 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, SSC scored 163 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 5 wickets, while in reply Naharpora bundled out for 134 runs and lost the match by 29 runs. Sajad Ahmed of losing team was declared as man of the match for scoring 53 runs and taking 2 wickets.
In another match played today, Ashraf Cricket Club thrashed Bradman Eleven by 6 wickets. Bradman Eleven after batting first scored 132 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
In reply, ACC achieved the target easily by losing 4 wickets and won the match by 6 wickets. Azhar Ahmed of ACC was adjudged as man of the match for scoring fabulous half-century.
