Govt committed to nurture young talent: Sham

JAMMU, Aug 4: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma emphasized the need for encouraging extra-curricular activities among the children and nurturing their talent from the early age.
This was stated by the Minister as a chief guest while presenting best/bravery award in a function that was organized by All India State Anti Corruption Anti Crime Trust/Cell (J&K) at Akhnoor. SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat was the guest of honour on the occasion.
“Schools while concentrating making the children academically excellent should devote due attention to imbibe moral education and sports,” he said and underscored the importance of identifying the talent at the young age and facilitating them to catch the opportunities to prove their mettle and ability at the state and the national levels.
Sham said this while interacting with the Vivek Kumar S/o  Shamsher Chand R/o Akhnoor who has saved life of a drowned person in River Chenab.
He also awarded Mohan Lal Bhagat SSP (first from Tehsil Akhnoor) for his services in the Police Department.
Among others Executive Engineer of PHE, I&FC, senior officers of various departments, SDM, Tehsil Akhnoor, prominent citizens, chairman and members of the trust were also present on the occasion.
