KATHUA, Aug 7: A delegation of ReT Teachers Forum District Kathua called on Deputy Commissioner Kathua Shahid Iqbal here today and demanded release of their salaries for last seven months.
The delegation was led by district president of the Forum, Meena Sharma and its other members were Sushil Verma, Rakesh Singh Sardar Singh, Om Parkash, Deep Raj, Balbir Bhagat etc.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum to DC. It said that ReT teachers were facing many hardships as their salaries for last seven months have not been released in their favour so far.
They said as they have no other source of livelihood except the salary they have been put to many hardships for non disbursement of the same for last seven months.
The delegation informed him that the Forum members had met many times to concerned officers of the department requesting them to release their earned wages but to no avail. They said some families are at the verge of starvation as they have nothing to feed their families.
The delegation said that the non payment of salaries in time is not some thing new as ReT teachers were facing the same for last two years. They said the increment and arrears of 2013 are also pending and authorities are not paying any attention to release the same.
Seeking the intervention of DC they urged him to find an amicable solution to the problem and issue directives to CEO Kathua to release the salaries.
