SRINAGAR, Aug 7: Doctors in the Valley have demanded arrest of the Congress member Imtiyaz Parray for physically assaulting a lady doctor in a Community Health Centre Hajan in district Bandipora.
President Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan today strongly condemned the physical assault on the doctor by Parray in North Kashmir town of Hajan in district Bandipora.
“It was shocking to know that a female on-duty doctor was physically assaulted by a politician while she was rendering her professional services,” Dr Nisar said in a statement.
“This politician dared to do this dastardly act just because politicians enjoy immunity in Kashmir. DAK strongly condemns the act and seeks immediate arrest of the accused”, he added.
Citing Government rules, Dr Nisar said doctors can’t leave the hospital during duty hours. “And they can never visit homes of people. No person is a VIP for a doctor”, he added.
The DAK president said medicos were unsafe in hospitals and that Government has shut its eyes to this grave issue.
