Ruckus in LS over BJP member’s conduct; House adjourned for day

NEW DELHI : The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day following vociferous exchanges between the treasury and the Opposition benches over BJP member Hari Narayan Rajbhar’s conduct.
Earlier, Mr Rajbhar lost his temper and moved towards the agitating members, who were protesting against the Railway Budget, allegedly to have a brawl with them. As the House resumed at 1630 hrs, members of AITC briefed K Narayana Rao, who was in the Chair, about the incident, saying that even women were not safe in Parliament as Mr Rajbhar had threatened them with dire consequences when they were protesting. Other Opposition parties also joined the Trinamool members chorus and were on their feet, shouting slogans against the BJP government.
BJP member Prakash Javadekar charged the Opposition with not maintaining the decorum of the House as they were not allowing it to run.
Countering the charge, AITC leaders trooped into the Well, shouting
slogans, leading the Chair to adjourn the House for the day. The House was supposed to hold debate on price rise but it could not take place due to the protests against the Railway Budget. (AGENCIES)
