Raising Star, SCC register wins in Sopore T20

SOPORE, July 16: Raising Star Sopore and Syndicate Cricket Club registered wins over their rivals to move into the next round of the ongoing 1st Sopore T20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, under Civic Action Programme at Khushal Stadium, here.
In the first match, Raising Star defeated Wonder Boys Cricket Club by 60 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, Raising Star scored 152 for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, while in reply, Wonder Boys collapsed at 92 runs, thus lost the match by 60 runs. Adil Ahmed of Raising Star was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant innings of 53 runs.
Meanwhile, in another match, Syndicate Cricket Club defeated Eleven Star by 7 wickets. Syndicate Club chased the target of 127 runs set by Eleven Star easily by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Abdul Lateef who scored magnificent 49 runs was declared man of the match.
