SRINAGAR, Aug 17: Minister for Rural Development & Panchayats Ali Mohammad Sagar today inaugurated two day orientation programme for Hajjis at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium.
The programme was jointly organised by State Hajj Committee Srinagar in collaboration with Indian Hajj Training Forum Bangalore, District Administration and HDFC Bank.
Among others Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Executive Officer State Hajj Committee Srinagar, Fayaz Ahmad and representative of Indian Hajj Training Forum, HDFC Bank and over 1500 Hajj pilgrims were present on occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Government has already put in place a fool proof mechanism for 2014 Hajj pilgrims so that they do not face any sort of inconvenience while performing their religious duties.
Mr. Sagar said that necessary instructions have already been conveyed to the concerned to ensure that hassle free arrangements are put in place and complete coordination is ensured between various departments for conducting the smooth pilgrimage.
The Minister hoped that the Hajjis would pray for the peace and prosperity of the state which has witnessed a turbulent time in the past
The Minister also launched Forex Card introduced by HDFC Bank for the benefit of the Hajjis so that they do not face any difficulty while exchanging their money or withdrawing the same from any institution while performing hajj.
