JAMMU, Aug 17: Two persons were arrested with large consignment of banned forest produce ‘Nagchatri’ from Chowki Choura area of tehsil Akhnoor.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police party from Chowki Choura Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AF-6085.
During checking, police recovered 1.5 quintals of banned forest produce ‘Nagchatri’ and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Mohammad Aslam and Tasaduk Hussain, both residents of District Poonch.
A case under Section 6 Forest Act has been registered at Police Post Chowki Choura and investigation started.
Police team headed by Incharge Police Post Chowki Choura Inspector Joginder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Bharat Sharma and SDPO Akhnoor Farooq Qaiser.
