This has reference to the news item ‘Sharif for peaceful solution to Kashmir’ DE Aug 5.
It is quite appreciated that Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is seeking a peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue. India is for peace. India has always maintained peace with its neighbours. But it is Pakistan who is responsible for creating a violent situation in the Indian sub-continent Pakistan has been nursing terrorism as a State Policy. It is suporting terrorists, particularly, those who are bent on destabilising India. It supports them morally and financially. If India and Pakistan have to move ahead, and pay attention to development. Pakistan has to dismantle terror structure on its soil. India and Pakistan can emerge two big peaceful neighbours only if Pakistan changes its, policy viz-a-viz Kashmir.
Presently, both the countries are facing the problems of unemployment, corruption, poverty and illiteracy. These problems can’t be overcome unless we stop investing too much on defence matters. The arms race between the two countries is a burden on poor. By cutting defence budgets substantially, both the countries can keep pace with developed countries in the world.
