Togadia asks Mamata to clarify stand on Bangladeshi infiltrators

KOLKATA, Aug 23: Vishwa Hindu Parisad leader Praveen Togadia today said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should make her stand clear on infiltration by Bangladeshis.

“Mamata Banerjee should clarify whether she is protecting, giving shelter or supporting Bangladeshi citizens. If she says yes then we (VHP) will file a case against her,” Togadia told a press conference at the Press Club here.

Asked whether there would be support from the Narendra Modi government in its drive against infiltration by Bangladeshis, Togadia replied “You can go and ask them, I cannot comment on their stand.”

The VHP, Togadia said, would continue its ‘Hindu Jagran’ campaign over Ram Janma Bhoomi, Krishna Janma Bhoomi, Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, anti-cow slaughter and debate on Article 370 of the Constitution.

Speaking about the golden jubilee celebrations of the VHP, he said a World Hindu Congress would be held in New Delhi this year.

Delegates from abroad and the country would participate in the meet and reflect on global Hindu human rights and economical progress of NRIs, the VHP supremo said.

The VHP would also host a Virat Hindu Sammelan from November to February in cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata,Bhopal, Hyderabad and Delhi besides in every district.

As a part of its 12-month-long golden jubilee celebrations, VHP has organised a series of programmes that started last Sunday on Janmashtami. (PTI)
