JAMMU, Aug 23: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha is going to honour meritorious students of the Brahman community, who have excelled in academic results of J&K Board of School Education and CBSE for the session 2013-14.
In this connection, a grand ‘Sammam Samaroh’ is going to be organized on August 31 at the Brahman Sabha where Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu, Prof Pradeep K Sharma will be the chief guest.
This was informed by president of the Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha president, Pt Ved Parkash Sharma while addressing a press conference, here today.
“The Brahman students, who have secured top positions among top twenty in matric, or top ten in class 12th exams by the J&K BOSE session 2012-13 or 90 percent and above marks in CBSE, will be honoured during the Samman Samaroh,” he said and appealed the meritorious students to submit their requisite testimonials with the Sabha office by or before August 26 upto 5 pm.
Pt Ved Varkash also informed that the Brahman was also going to organize such functions at district level for encouraging the meritorious students. Besides, he added, the Sabha is also engaged in several developmental activities like students hostel, arranging computer classes, Sanskrit teaching and running free matrimonial service.
Others, present in the press conference included Pt Verinder Mohan Magotra, Satya Pal Sharma, N C Sharma, M L Sharma, P C Sharma, Shiv Charan Dass, Dr Som Dutt Magotra, Shiv Ram Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma, Vijay Sharma and Mohan Lal.
