2 pedestrians die, 11 others injured in road accidents

SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Two pedestrians died, while 11 others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said a Swift car JK01N/7155 driven by Ghulam Mohammad Mir of Pandrathan, Srinagar hit a pedestrian Abdul Ahad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammad of Miam Mohallah Pattan near Pattan Tehsil office, resulting in his on spot death.
In another accident, a motor cycle JK09/3433 driven by Suhail Ahmed son of Abdul Ahad War of Chottipora, Handwara hit a pedestrian Ghulam Hassan Ganie son of Ghulam Ahmed Ganie of Malikpora Tarathpora near Gund Khuroo in Handwara, resulting in injuries to the pedestrian, motorcyclist and pillion Mumtaz Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din of Chottipora, Handwara. All the injured were shifted to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment, where Ghulam Hassan Ganie succumbed to his injuries.
Eight passengers were injured after a passenger Auto driven by Mohammad Ashraf Malik son of Ghulam Mohammad Malik of Sonerwani turned turtle at village Panner in Pethkoot, Handwara. All the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
The spokesman said police has registered cases in these accidents.
