Srinagar, Aug 26: High Court today issued notice to Chief Secretary of the State, Director General of Police, Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association scam.
The court issued notice to Chief Secretary of the State, Director General of Police, Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) through its secretary, Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar and SHO Rammunshi Bagh for filing their reply within four weeks and sought status of investigation in respect of FIR No.27/2012 registered in Police Station Rammunshi Bagh.
The Division Bench comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice MH Attar after hearing counsel for petitioners at length issued notice to CS, DGP, SSP, BCCI and SHO for their reply in opposition to the instant PIL.
Court during proceedings enquired from Advocate General about the FIR lodged in Rammunshi Bagh in response to court query and he submitted that investigation is near finalization and CJM Srinagar is monitoring the case.
Counsel for petitioners alleged that Rs 40 crore embezzlement have been done by JKCA members and JKCA president Dr. Farooq Abdullah after depositing Rs 2 crore says there is no need to go ahead with the probe.
The PIL has been filed by Majid Yaqoob Dar and Nissar Ahmad Khan who remained to be the Ranji Trophy and Club Level Players respectively.
The petitioners have alleged that crores of rupees have been swindled by its so-called office bearers and called in question the said fraudulent device of using the said money of association for their personal use.
Petitioners are praying for investigation of matter by a high level team of reputed police officers or from any authorized department.
They also seek investigation of FIR No.27/2012 registered in Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh Srinagar and for bringing the guilty to book and to remove office bearers of JKCA who according to them have got themselves elected on 12.5.2014 fraudulently and dishonestly.
Those who have been arrayed respondents in the PIL include BCCI through its Secretary, Farooq Abdullah(President JKCA), Chief Secretary of the State,Director General of Police, SSP Srinagar, Ehsan Mirza, Saleem Khan and Moti Lal Nehru.
