JAMMU, Aug 27: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Nighat Sultana today granted bail to Choudhary Nagar Singh, who was facing trial in fudging of evidence in the much publicized Amandeep murder case, and is in custody for the last more than 5 years.
After hearing Advocate R K Kotwal appearing for the applicant whereas Special Public Prosecutor for the State, 2nd Additional Sessions Judge observed, “the plea of Choudhary Nagar Singh has the force especially in the light of the judgment of Apex Court and High Court whereby Rakesh Singh, Manohar Singh and Sultan Mehmood Mirza have already been bailed out”.
With these observations, court granted bail to the petitioner with the direction to release him on furnishing bail bond to the tune of Rs 2,00,000 with the condition that the applicant on being released on bail shall attend the Trial Court on each and every date of hearing and shall not leave the territorial jurisdiction of this court.
“He shall not try to give a slip to law in any way. Moreover, he shall not attempt to contact or influence any witness or any other person related to the case. In case of the applicant’s violation of any of these conditions, the State will be free to apply for cancellation of the bail”, the court said.
