JAMMU, Aug 27: The 1st Annual Inter-School Open Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Banyan International School, kicked off today with an impressive opening ceremony, here.
9 teams are participating in the tournament, with the preliminary rounds being played on the August 27 and 28, 2014 and the final will take place on August 29, 2014.
The School Captain Raman Bedi administered the players’ pledge during the opening ceremony.
School Principal, Shounak Lahiri stressed that playing with sportsman spirit is as important as winning.
In the knockout fixture, APS (Akhnoor) defeated KC International School by (25-13 25-13), while in the second match Banyan International School scripted victory and in the third match Shiksha Niketan scripted a thrilling win over KC Public School by (25-24, 25-19).
