PHE workers to go on 48 hr strike from Aug 31

JAMMU, Aug 28: PHE workers including daily wagers and CP workers have decided to go on 48-hour `Kam Chorh Hartal’ from August 31.
Talking to media-persons here today, Subash Verma, general secretary PHE Workers Welfare Association said that Government has adopted anti-employee policy. He said the PHE daily wagers and other consolidated workers are struggling for regularization and timely wages since long but their issue has remained unresolved.
Not only this, even the PHE workers of other cadre are demanding conduct of DPC but the senior officers of the department have not bothered to arrange the same to remove stagnation. Many posts were lying vacant in the department. The PHE workers have been presenting memoranda and even staged dharnas and held protests  for the resolution of their issues but the authorities remained unmoved.
Mr Verma said about a month back the Association members met the Minister for PHE at his residence and it was assured to resolve this issue with in a month but nothing happened. Now the  PHE workers have resolved to go on Kaam Chorh Hartal for 48 hours. For any consequences, the Government will be responsible. The strike would start on August 31 and supplies will be affected for the next 48 hours besides other allied works. Rattan Doshi, Babu Singh, Vijay Singh and others also spoke.
