Uppal of MHAC wins sprint gold, Richa of BSF bags double gold

JAMMU, Aug 30: Aditi Upal of MHAC Nagbani became the fastest athlete by clinching the 100 meter sprint gold, while Richa of BSF School Paloura bagged gold medals in long jump and triple jump as  the District Level Inter-School Under-19 Girls Athletic Meet which concluded at MA Stadium, here today.
The Meet was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as a part of annual calendar of activities, under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, its Director General.
Kanchan Bala, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports visited the venue and took stock of the arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the events.
Earlier, in 100 meters Under-19 girls, the silver medal was bagged by Nikhita Kapoor of K C International, while Parveen Akhter of HSS Bazar Qasaban claimed the bronze.
In long jump Under-19 girls, Diksha of HSS Bishnah claimed silver, while Tanishque of Presentation Convent clinched bronze and in triple jump, the silver medal was bagged by Tulika of MHAC Nagbani.
In 3000 meters Under-19 girls, Radha Rani of GGHSS Bishnah won gold, while silver went to Ankolika Chatterji of Presentation Convent, while in 800 meters, Aketa Devi of HSS Narrdiwala won gold, while Makhnu Sharma of HSS Akhnoor and Radha Rani of HSS Bishnah claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
Medha Kohli of Presentation Convent won 400 meters Under-19 girls gold, while Sakshi Chouhan of BSF Paloura and Vishali Devi of HSS Ghou Manhasan claimed silver and bronze medals in this event respectively.
In 1500 meters, Anu Devi of HSS Dori Dager, Pooja Yadhav of BSF Paloura and Shivani Sharma of HSS Akhnoor bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in Javelin Throw, Jaswinder Kour of HSS Miran Sahib and Mansi Singh of Presentation Convent claimed gold and silver respectively.
The gold medal in Discus Throw went to Saparsh Bhat of HSS Rehari while the silver and bronze medals in this event went to Tamana Sharma of HSS Akhnoor and Elisha Slathia of BSF Paloura, while in shot put Under-19 girls, Saparsh Bhat of HSS Rehari won gold, Elisha Slathia of BSF Paloura bagged silver and Aratrika Razdan claimed bronze.
Tayaba Anjum of BSF Paloura won gold in 200 meters Under-19 girls, while Muskaan Sharma of KC International and Kalyal Langay of HSS Gharota claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
