Sadhotra declares open 1st Marh Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament

JAMMU, Sep 2: 1st Marh Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament-2014 of Marh constituency has been declared open by Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment, Ajay Sadhotra today.
Mr Sadhotra distributed uniforms and playing kits amongst the players of participating teams.
The tournament shall be played on league and knockout basis.
In the tournament 75 teams from Marh Constituency are participating and the winning team will get a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a trophy, while runners-up team will get cash prize of Rs one lakh. Rs 50,000 will be presented to the team securing third place and Rs 25,000 will be awarded to the team achieving fourth place in the tournament.
Sadhotra in his address congratulated the organizing committee comprising of Subash Sharma, chairman, Akush Aborl, president, Rajesh Dhar, senior vice president, Vikram Singh, general secretary, Shashi Pal, organizing secretary, Dharmpal Sharma, joint secretary, Kewal Sharma, joint secretary media, Manmohan Paroch and event in-charge.
He called upon the youth to channelize their energy in the right direction and play a vital role for nation building. He also stated that it is the first tournament of its kind and is the right platform for the players to show their talent.
While wishing all the teams a success, Mr Sadhotra said the best player of the tournament will be sent outside the State for coaching so as to bring laurels to the J&K state and display his talent at the national and international level.
The function among others was attended by Subash Sharma, Sarpanch Mandal, Ragubir Singh, Senior leader NC, Bishan Dass, Sarpanch Sum and Baru, Sarpanch, Haripur, besides large number of people including from Marh Constituency and prominent persons of the area.
Earlier, on his arrival Mr Sadhotra was given a rousing welcome at the venue of the function.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Bawa Par Devta Cricket Club will take on Mann Cricket Club, Rajput Cricket Club Makwal will face Tiger Cricket Club Raipur Jagir and Shri Shastri Cricket Club Sonjana will lock horns with Saharan Cricket Club ‘B’.
