Hyderabad, Sept 7: Telangana’s Brand Ambassador Sania Mirza, who won US mixed-doubles title, got a rousing reception on her arrival at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad here today.
Sania, who dedicated her win to Telangana state, was given warm welcome by the officials of Telangana state with flower bouquet on behalf of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao for winning the mixing-double tile in the US open. Scores of fans and tennis lovers also had gathered at the premises of the airport to receive the 27-year-old Hyderabadi. Talking to the reporters at the airport here after her arrival from US, Mirza said, ‘I dedicate this victory to every body in India, my country, and to the state of Telangsna and to all people of Telangana.’
As a brand ambassador of Telangana, Sania Mirza has brought laurels for the State by winning a title in the US open, a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office said. (UNI)
