NEW DELHI: Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation today rushed two lakh litres of water in bottles for the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Ministry, headed by Nitin Gadkari, has also dispatched water purification plants of four lakh litre capacity per day to help augment the drinking water supply in the State as part of the central relief measures.
Gadkari took the decision to airlift drinking water at a high level meeting with officials concerned.
The meeting followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction to all central ministries and departments to join in the rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures to help and assist the State Government in tiding over the unprecedented natural calamity faced by the people of J&K. (AGENCIES)
