JAMMU, Sept 13: As part of Value Based Education Curriculum, Model Academy conducted a workshop for students of the Primary Wing on the theme “My body is mine, nobody can touch it”.
The objective of the workshop was to build awareness and sensitise the students about sexual abuse and to develop skills to identify trusted sources of help and redressal.
A presentation was made by Anita Kaul, a teacher from the Primary Wing who explained the difference between good and bad touch and how the child victim of abuse may show a cluster of physical, behavioural and emotional changes.
It was emphasized that such instances can take place at school or at home and can be perpetrated even by a friend or a relative. They were encouraged to report and disclose their experiences to their parents and teachers.
The workshop ended with an interactive session in which the teachers clarified the doubts and queries of the students.
Rupa Gupta, Management Representative, Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal and Jasleen Mohial, Incharge Primary Wing were also present during the workshop and interactive session.
