KATHUA, Sept 17: Reiterating Government’s commitment to provide educational infrastructure to the remotest areas of the state, Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that Government is taking long strides for the up gradation of educational infrastructure in the State.
He was speaking after inaugurating newly upgraded Government High School Amala in Hiranagar tehsil today.
He said that Government is committed to nurture the talents of the students of far off areas. He called upon the students to actively participate in co curricular activities to shape up their personalities to compete and excel in this competitive age.
Director School Education Jammu H.R. Pakhroo also spoke on the occasion. He said that with the induction of newly selected teachers the workforce of Education Department will be strengthened to the great extent.
Later, Dr Sharma held a meeting with the locals and listened their grievances. The panchayat representatives of Amala and adjoining panchayats apprised the minister about their day to-day difficulties and demanded immediate mitigation.
The projected issues include additional school building for newly upgraded high school, vacant posts of teachers to be filled in at an earliest, demand of Higher Secondary School at Channi and pending MGNREGA works.
The Minister gave patient hearing to their demands.
