GCW Gandhi Nagar inaugurates Hindi Pakhwara

JAMMU, Sept 18: Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar inaugurated ‘Hindi Pakhwara’, a fortnight carnival of Hindi literary activities, here.
Dr Kiran Bakshi, Principal GCW, Gandhi Nagar was the chief guest on the occasion.
The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest and the other dignitaries.
Prof A K Raina, Department of Hindi presented welcome address and highlighted the importance of this language for knowing the ‘real soul’ of India and its civilization.
Prof Balwan Singh also threw light on the origin of this language and its related dialects for understanding the ethos. Dr Bakshi in her address stressed upon the promotion of this language to develop the creative potential of the students and tie the people in one bond of love and togetherness. Hindi literary activities like Kavita Path, Laghu Katha, Essay Writing, Elocution and Quiz Competition will embellish this event in two week long celebration.
