JAMMU, Sept 18: MIER College of Education has attained a unique distinction of being the first College of Education in the private sector in J&K State to be granted the ‘Autonomous Status’ by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the University of Jammu.
The notification to this effect was issued recently after approval of the University Syndicate in its meeting held on August 11, 2014.
Dr Arun K Gupta, Chairman, MIER group of institutions thanked the officials of the UGC, the State Government, the Vice Chancellor and the University authorities for reposing faith in the functioning of the College and granting the ‘Autonomous Status’.
He also expressed satisfaction that MIER College is the only private College of Education that has been accredited with ‘A’ Grade twice by the National Assessment and accreditation Council (NAAC) for imparting quality education and providing excellent infrastructure for the students and faculty.
