Financial Commissioner I&C visits SIDCO Complex, takes stock of flood damages

JAMMU, Sept 20: Financial Commissioner, Industries and Commerce (I&C), Khurshid Ahmad Ganai today visited SIDCO Industrial Complex Shaltaing and assessed damages caused to the infrastructure and the industrial units due to recent devastating flood. He was accompanied by officers of I&C Department, SIDCO and Chairman FCIK Mohammad Ashraf Mir.
Financial Commissioner interacted with the Chairman of FCIK and executive members of the Federation to know about the problems being faced by them due to floods.
Ganai visited various industrial units in the industrial estate and interacted with the industrialists, who have borne the brunt of unprecedented calamity.
Industrialists sought immediate dewatering of the industrial area and restoration of damaged power lines on war footing.
In view of the damages caused to raw material and finished goods and blockage of receivable funds with their buyers, FCIK requested the Financial Commissioner to take up with banks for enhancement of CC limits and some immediate relief to flood affected industries.
Ganai exhorted the unit holders to face the situation with more hard work and bring the units to active production. On behalf of Government, he assured full help and commitment to the industrialists. He further assured that every possible step will be taken to overcome the current situation to keep industry functional.
