J&K Shooters excel in SportzCraft Shooting Championship

JAMMU, Sept 20:  The Jammu and Kashmir State Marksmen blossomed in the recently concluded 1st SportzCraft Air Weapons Shooting Championships  held at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, New Delhi from September 10 to 16.
With the entire top notch marksmen of the country vying for glory in the senior’s category, it was never going to be a cake walk for J&K marksmen. But, the brilliant marksmen displayed their skills and won bronze medal in senior category team event in the first SportzCraft Air Weapons Shooting Championship.
These shooters Sangram Singh (Delhi Public School Jammu), Mohan Lal  and Janak Raj both from Jammu and Kashmir Police won bronze medal in the senior category in .177 Air Pistol event in the Sportzcraft competition, organized by the National Rifle Association of India  in Delhi. Maharashtra won gold medal while Rajasthan took silver medal in the competition.
Sangram Singh from Delhi Public School, Jammu also secured fourth position in the Senior section in  All India Kumar Surendera Shooting Championship 2014 held at Dr Karni  Singh Shooting Range from September 10 to 16. Besides in pistol, Ikjoyt Singh also Delhi Public School, Jammu and Shreya Saksena and Samauya Saksena  both from Army Public School Kaluchak earned applaud by qualifying for the forthcoming Kerala National Games to be held in the January 30th, 2015.  All the three shooters have attained Maximum qualifying marks and qualified for the forthcoming National Games.
Besides, Asad Khan, Riga Bhatial, Abhay Gupta, Kalhan Bhat, Karanveer Singh all from Delhi Public School made proud the J&K State by crossing the maximum qualifying score in the nationals.
Vijay Kumar, Mohan Lal and Janak Raj, Subash Chander all from Jammu and Kashmir Police proved their berth  in the team by easily crossing  maximum qualifying score in the Sportz Craft competition. Digvijay Singh, Sunmoon Singh, Ranjit Chopra, Shanker Gupta have also excellent performance in the competitions.
ADGP  Dilbag Singh who is also president of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association conveyed his best wishes to the shooters of J&K State who won medal and  made way for the coming National Games.
On the arrival of the team, Commanding officer, Col Anurag Saxsena felicitated the medal winners of the competition in a function held here today.
The team: Sangram Singh (DPS Jammu), Mohan Lal, Janak Raj, Vijay Kumar, Subash Chander (all from J&K Police), Ikjyot Singh Gujaral, Karanveer Singh, Riga Bhatial, Abbay Gupta, Kalhan Bhat, Asad Khan(all from Delhi Public School Jammu), Shreya Saksena, Saumaya Saxsena (both from Army Public School Kaluchank),  Digvijay Singh, Sunmoon Singh, Shanker Gupta, Ranjit Chopra and Harshdeep Singh  while Rajesh Virdhy accompanied team as coach.
