Army restores educational facilities in rural areas of Poonch

JAMMU, Sept 21: Army unit deployed near Poonch town undertook the onerous responsibility of re-instating the educational facilities and supporting the State Government of J&K in alleviating the hardships of the teachers and students which have arisen due to the flash floods in the remote rural areas of Poonch.
A number of children lost their educational belongings in the floods and schools also suffered sizeable damage.
In order to recoup the lost assets, the army unit provided the Government High School of Degwar and Government Primary School of Noorkote much needed furniture for the students in terms of benches, almirahs and shelves.
The unit also distributed prescribed books to students who lost their study material to the natural calamity.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Maulvi Mohammad Amin Shah, a renowned religious figure of Poonch.
The ceremony was organized under the guidance of Commander of Poonch.
