Doctor arrested for passing indecent remarks to woman

JAMMU, Sept 22: A senior doctor posted at Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar was arrested today for misbehaving and passing objectionable remarks to a woman during medical examination.
As per police sources, a woman hailing from Sanjay Nagar visited Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar for some medical consultation.
Doctor Girdhari Lal Manhas, MD Gynae, Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar during medical examination misbehaved with the woman and also passed objectionable remarks, to which she objected and left the hospital.
Later, the woman reported the matter to Gandhi Nagar Police Station. In her complaint, the woman mentioned that the doctor was drunk during duty hours and misbehaved with her. She also stated that the doctor also passed indecent remarks to her and also asked objectionable questions.
Accordingly, a case under FIR number 210/14 under Section 294 RPC was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
A police team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Inspector Manzooor Ahmed Kohli along with SI Sohit Trikha under the supervision of SDPO South Harjeet Singh, Incharge SP South Sheikh Zulfkar Azad and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand arrested the doctor from his residence at Channi Himmat.
The doctor has consumed liquor, the symptoms of which were found during medical test conducted in Police Hospital at DPL Jammu.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
