RAJOURI, Sept 23: The students of Government Degree College (GDC) Budhal today held protest demanding bus service for them.
The students of GDC Budhal assembled in Samote village and blocked the vehicular movement on Budhal-Kotranka road for couple of hours.
Amid sloganeering in their favour, the protesting students said that they have to suffer a lot due to shortage of buses on this route and many a times they miss out the college as bus operators refuse to board them in view of over loading.
The protesting students also alleged over-charging by the mini-bus and bus operators, adding that the bus and mini-bus operators do not charge half-fare from the students which is violation of the Government norms.
On getting information, police team and civil administration officers rushed to the spot, pacified the agitating students and assured them the matter has been taken up with Motor Vehicles Department and concerned officers have agreed to start a bus service for students.
