NEW DELHI, Sept 24: Zinc traded a shade higher at Rs 137.55 per kg in futures trade today after speculators enlarged positions on the back of rising demand in domestic spot markets along with a firming trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in September moved up by 10 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 137.55 per kg in a business turnover of 136 lots.
The metal for delivery in far-month October gained five paise, or 0.04 per cent, to trade at Rs 138.15 per kg with a business turnover of 11 lots.
According to marketmen, apart from improved demand in the spot markets, a firming trend in the base metals at the London Metal Exchange, supported the upside in zinc futures. (PTI)
