NEW DELHI, Sept 25: Tracking a weak trend overseas, silver prices fell by 0.52 per cent in futures trade today as speculators engaged in off-loading positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month December contracts lost Rs 205, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 39,060 per kg, with a turnover of 890 lots.
Marketmen said a weak trend in global markets as US economic data that beat estimates boosted expectations for higher borrowing costs, strengthening the dollar and eroding demand for a store of value, weighed on silver futures here.
Globally, silver dropped 0.40 per cent to USD 17.62 an ounce in Singapore today. (PTI)
