Collection of Punjabi poetry by Sharda Sawhney released

JAMMU, Sept 26: ‘Kachiyan Kandaan Pakke Rang’, a collection of Punjabi poetry by Sharda Sawhney, was released today.
A function in this connection was organized by Manoranjan Kala Kendra at K L Saigal Hall Jammu where Additional Secretary of the J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Dr Arvinder Singh Aman was the chief guest. Noted Urdu writer S S Anand Lehar presided over the function.
On the occasion, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik read out a paper on life and work of Sharda Sawhney while Anand Lehar talked in detail about the need to hold such book release function related to a particular genre of Punjabi literature to underline the under current of social change.
Dr Arvinder Singh Aman elaborated upon the ways and techniques adopted by Sharda Sawhney by placement of words in a sentence to create humour and store. He appreciated the work in Punjabi literature.
Earlier, while welcoming the writers and scholars on the occasion, Dr Rajinder Thappa, founder of Manoranjan Kala Kendra, threw light on the literary functions being organized by the Kendra for encouraging the writers and artists.
Those, present on the occasion, included Pritpal Singh Betab, Khalid Hussain, Dr Shusheel Sharma, S Dedar Singh, Amar Singh Kooka, Parminder Kour, Baljeet Kour, Hardeep Singh Gill, Darshan Kour, Joginder Sawhney, Dalbir Singh, Mukesh Sharma and others.
