AGRA, Sept 27:
The City of Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, today celebrated the World Tourism Day in a simple manner to commemorate the occasion. According to tourism department officials, a customary function was held to welcome tourists deboarding from the Taj express and Shatabadi trains with garlands at Agra Cantonment railway station.
But surprisingly no big function is being organised on the occasion except for some banners being put by the state tourism department.
However, tourism guild of Agra, an organization comprising hoteliers and travel agents, in association with Rotary club have will organise a musical programme ‘atithi devo bhava’ for tourists at the Taj Nature walk. A ballet performance by Sapphire musical group will be showcased during the event. (UNI)
