JAMMU, Sept 27: A formal function was organized in the premises of Government Degree College, Kathua, to felicitate the wrestling team of the college which stood winner in the Inter-Collegiate Wrestling Championship organized by Physical Education Department, University of Jammu, from September 25 to 26, 2014.
The College wrestling team won two golds, two silvers and one bronze Medal and stood winner with overall 20 points in the championship.
Lalu Din of BA Part –I and Tanvir of BA Part – III won gold medal in 65kg and 125 Kg category, Ashiq Hussain and Amit Goutam of BA Part – II and BA Part -III won silver medals each in the 75 Kg and 97 Kg categories while Shiva Kumar of BSc Part – II won bronze medal in 57 kg category.
Principal, Dr BL Gupta congratulated the team members for their stellar performance in wrestling championship and assured them of full support from college for better sports facilities. He also appreciated the Physical Director, Dr Balbinder Singh and Team incharge, Dr Singh, for providing proper training and guidance to the players.
