Zinc futures down 0.29% on subdued spot demand, global cues

NEW DELHI, Sept 29:  Zinc prices drifted by 0.29 per cent to Rs 139.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions after demand eased in the spot markets.
Also, weak trend in other base metals in global markets influenced the sentiment.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October shed 40 paise, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 139.10 per kg in a business turnover of 104 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in September edged lower by 35 paise, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 138.70 per kg in 262 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall of zinc futures to sluggish demand in the spot markets and weak trend in base metals overseas. (PTI)
