JAMMU, Sept 29: Inter Collegiate Badminton Tournament (Men and Women) began today in the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu (JU).
The tournament is being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu under the overall supervision of Prof Dhian S Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, JU, Jammu.
On first day various matches among Men and Women were played.
In Women Section, MBS College beat GDC Akhnoor by 2-0.
In singles, Incia Anand beat Meenakshi Devi by 21-10 while in doubles, Jasleen Kour and Reetika beat Seema and Priya by 21-4.
GDC Billawar got walkover from MIET whereas GWC Udhampur got walkover from GDC Mendhar.
In Men’s Section, GDC Udhampur beat SPMR College of Commerce by 3-1.
In Singles – I, Rajat Gupta beat Kshitij by 22-20 while in Singles –II, Subrit beat Vishal by 21-21
In doubles, Vinayak and Rajt lost to Vishal and Sunil by 17-21 while in singles-III, Vipin beat Amandeep by 22-20.
In Men’s Section, GDC RS Pura beat MIET by 3 – 0.
In singles – I, Navjot Digra beat Faizan by 21-18 while in Singles –II, Gulchain Singh beat Shivam by 21 – 9.
In doubles, Amit and Balvinder beat Faizan and Shivam by 21-18. GDC Ram Nagar beat GDC Akhnoor by 3 – 2.
In singles – I, Sanjay Singh lost to Chetan Sharma by 19 – 21 while in Singles –II, Rohit Shama beat Balvinder Sharma by 21 – 12.
In doubles, Anesb and Divyan lost to Chetan and Rohit by 16 – 21 while in Singles-III, Divyam beat Susheel Kumar by 21 – 11.
In doubles, Sanjay and Jeevan beat Vikash and Amit by 21 – 07.
All the matches were officiated by Vikram Jamwal, Ravish Vaid, Rakesh Verma and Amit Sharma.
