JAMMU, Sept 30: S.K. Sharma, Executive Director, Powergrid has taken over the charge of its Northern Region Transmission System -II.
This was stated in a official handout issued by Powergrid here today. It said Mr Sharma will be responsible for operation and maintenance and project execution of EHV/ UHV transmission lines and substations under Central transmission projects in the states of J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh.
He is the first ED from J&K to be the incharge of NR-II.
A Post Graduate Mechanical Engineer from Bylorussian Engineering Institute, USSR and a competent professional with over 30 years of extensive experience in Project Management, Execution, construction , operations & maintenance in Power Sector. Sharma is considered as an authority in managing, executing / supervising construction & O&M activities in Power Sector. Prior to joining POWERGRID in 1992, he has served in National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd. (NHPC).
