SRINAGAR, Sept 30: Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora today visited certain flood hit areas like Rajbagh, Jawahar Nagar and Bemina. He personally observed the functioning of dewatering stations at Lal Mandi Rajbagh.
During his visit, he interacted with the Municipal officers, officials at Tatoo ground yard and observed the deployment of refuse collecting mechanical fleet. He was informed that during 24 hours around 2000 Mts of garbage has been lifted from Srinagar city and disposed off scientifically at dumping ground Syed Pora, Achen.
The Minister was accompanied by Municipal Commiss-ioner Srinagar, Dr. G. N. Qasba and senior officers of SMC during the tour.
