J&K enters quarters as QF’s lineup drawn in Junior National Korfball C’ship

SRINAGAR, July 20: The quarterfinals position has been cleared in the ongoing 20th Junior National Korfball Championship, being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Korfball Association at Bakshi Stadium, here. The teams which have qualified for the last eight stage included host Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, DNH, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir blanked Goa by fourteen goals to nil (14 – 0) with the half-time score being 8–0 in favour of J&K. Tamana was the star performer for J&K, who scored four goals, while Mohit, Anshul, Harish, Jugal and Muskan scored two goals each.
In the other matches played today, Haryana thrashed Pondicherry by sixteen goals to two (16–2), HP drubbed Rajasthan by sixteen goals to one (16–1), Maharashtra outplayed Chandigarh by five goals to three (5–3), Bihar prevailed upon Maharashtra by four goals to two (4–2), MP trounced Goa by nine goals to five (9–5), DNH outclassed Pondicherry by two goals to one (2–1), Rajasthan got better of Tamil Nadu by three goals to one (3–1) and Bihar toppled Chandigarh by six goals to one (6–1).
